Dynasty!
I’ve refrained all baseball season from posting about my beloved Cubs. No more! Yesterday they clinched their second consecutive NL Central Division title. Their first back-to-back division titles (well, they were pennants back then) since 1907-1908. Coincidentally (perhaps), 1908 is also the last time they went to the World Series.
I like this year’s team in particular. First in runs scored in the NL, and second all-around, only to the Texas Rangers. Second in the NL in ERA to the Dodgers, who play in a very pitcher-friendly stadium when compared to Wrigley, and second in runs against, also to the Dodgers. Deeper pitching staff than 2003 or 2007. This all bodes well.
Now to shut up again. Off we go, Harry.
