Steal of the Century or Imperial Hubris?

Nissan-Renault to take stake in GM? Wow. It could just be a play to pump up the stock, but let’s take it seriously for the sake of discussion. Nissan was hemorrhaging money when Renault took its stake and Ghosn went in to clean house, so there’s past successful precedent. And culturally, Nissan was a GM equivalent - even the name (Nissan Jidosha) literally translates to Japan Automotive Manufacturing.
But boy, taking on GM requires no shortage of moxie.

MotleyFool puts it well - Konichiwa, Mon Frere.
